The Cooperative Society of Villar currently has 1975 hectares of its
own wineyards, spread throughout the neighbouring municipal areas, with an average
production of 5,000,000 kg of grapes, and a storage capacity of 12 million litres.
All the wineyards are at an altitude greater than 400 m above sea level .
The farmers belonging to the Cooperative are currently renewing and restructuring
their wineyards, changing the old glass-protected wines over to new point-irrigated
espalier planting with recognized varietals such as Tempranillo and Grenache,
but not neglecting, of course, traditional local varietals such as
Pedro Ximenez, Macabeo, Merseguera and Tintorera.
